Honesty, Service and Inclusiveness

Why do you want to represent your community?

Through the various activities of the University of Essex, I intend to develop capacity for Student's/Staff behavioural intervention that will bring efficiency and result-orientation to the academic and social activities in the School. Based on my experiences in Public sector and a then Student Union Government (SUG) Rep / Faculty Rep, I'm open to work collaboratively as an approach with all the Home and International Students as well as the entire University Community and across disciplines to shape the model of University of Essex in line with modernization to meet and favourably find its spot at the global competitive standard. I will foster and sustain the need for tolerance, harmony, respect and peaceful coexistence with one another in the University of Essex community and beyond. Effective representation is also embedded in the need for a clear, concise, and cogent transmission/feedback of information within and across the University in order to meet the need of not only the International Students but all Students and the University community. This has been part of my leadership skills and capacity as a class-prefect in Methodist High School, Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria; Class Rep from 100L up till graduation at 400L, Students’ Government Representative of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and as President NYSC MDG Group, Abuja. Collaborative effort will be put in place with the Management of the University of Essex to reduce cost of living for Students both in the Campus and Off-campus.

How would you aim to engage with your community?

Aside being much available to be reached both physically and mail/phone contacts, the International Students Community can be engaged by organizing social and academic events through publicity in both notice boards and social media platforms which will help to create awareness about the operations and activities of the International Students Community. Also, personal contacts and meetings at SU Bar and other social gatherings can be a platform to talk about the activities of the International Students Community of the University of Essex.
