Why do you want to represent your community?

The societies are a blend of different talents which enhances the diversity and inclusivity in the university, each society is known for it's unique talents and perspectives, my desire to represent the societies stems from a deep appreciation for their role in fostering collaboration, connection and creativity amongst students, by amplifying their voices and addressing their needs, I believe we can enhance the overall student experience, the university societies represent a broad spectrum of interests from cultural to academic groups to hobbies, each society gives students a chance to meet like minded people, explore their passions. I am passionate about promoting this diversity and ensuring that every society feels appreciated.

How would you aim to engage with your community?

Engaging with my community is vital for fostering collaboration, support and inclusivity. I will be organising regular meeting with leaders of each society to discuss challenges, share updates and brainstorm ideas, I shall send out monthly newsletter highlighting the upcoming events, achievements and opportunities of collaboration amongst societies, creating surveys and polls to gather feedback from society members on their needs and concerns, have a suggestion box which is both physical and digital for students to share their ideas and thoughts, conduct joint events, such as workshops, panels and cultural showcases that encourage collaboration, host informal meet and greet for each society members to network share experience and build relationships, offer workshops on skill building like leadership, event planning and fundraising to empower society members and enhance their skills, invite alumni guest speakers to speak on relevant topics, providing valuable insights, actively represent societies in student union meetings, ensuring their voices and concerns are conveyed to the administration
