Why do you want to represent your community?
I want to be a representative of the disability community as I have a disability and am a wheelchair user. I know first-hand of disability struggles. I also have friends with a range of disabilities, So have an awareness of others' different struggles. I have a passion for and have studied disability rights. I have volunteered with many Disability charities, as I have a strong desire for disabled voices to be heard.
How would you aim to engage with your community?
I will be trying to engage with the community by giving everyone the opportunity for their voices to be heard. A good way to do this will be through social media. I also aim to help in any initiatives that relieve the daily struggles of disabled people. To make Essex University a better place for disabled students. As I know first hand when people feel supported they can thrive.
