Why do you want to represent your community?
I am excited about how we can make the environment better. The benefit of sustainability is enormous in improving our lives. Each of us can make a huge difference and if I can inspire you to get on board then we can make that difference. My desire to help the planet starts here at the university. I want to be part of protecting the environment, but also helping ensure the social welfare of us all in a fair and equitable manner. From my experiences of travelling, I have learnt how important sustainable practices are in preserving the environment and our local ecosystems.
How would you aim to engage with your community?
At Essex we can make a difference, not only continuing to recycle and reuse, but also by saving energy and water. I would raise more awareness about how we can reduce our current consumption by campaigns and practical solutions. Additionally, I aim to increase student understanding of which items are recyclable and which are not, to encourage more efficient waste management.
