The Community Learning Project has a big impact on the community and has previously been given an award by Braintree District Council for two years in a row. Our volunteers work with elderly people, adults who may have mild learning difficulties or perhaps had to quit school at an early age and are looking to improve their life. We work to give them tutoring in IT skills, such as writing emails, looking up bus timetables, using Google Maps, and anything else that helps them adapt easier to everyday life with technology. Other than that, we also help them with some arts and crafts, and any other activities they might want to do on the day.
Community Learning Project is for those who are truly looking to make a difference in someone’s life. Over time, students can see the regular attendees grow in confidence and become happier individuals. This project is for everyone, but particularly for those that don’t shy away from a challenge and who have a big heart.
