Hi guy here is a re uploaded version of my summer blog, it does look diffrent from my first one, but still includes all the vital information.

Attending Southend Freshers' Fair: Engaging with New Students
- I had the pleasure of attending the Southend Freshers' Fair alongside our Vice President of Community & Engagement. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet and chat with new students, making them feel welcome and part of our vibrant community.
- We encouraged students to get involved in activities like the V-Team and SU Council, which offer brilliant ways to make a real difference on campus and develop new skills. It was great to see so many students eager to get involved.

Connecting with Students at Loughton Freshers' Fair
- Similarly, I joined our Vice President of Community & Engagement and the Vice President of Student Experience at the Loughton Freshers' Fair. We made sure that students from both campuses felt supported and had plenty of opportunities to engage with the various activities and services on offer.
- The fair was a wonderful opportunity to ensure that students from all areas knew about the fantastic opportunities available to them throughout the year.

Supporting Late Arrivals: Challenges and Opportunities
- This year, with the extended registration period, there were a number of late arrivals at the university. To support these students, our Student Leaders have been working closely with the Providence Chancellor and the academic registrar.
- However, despite these efforts, many of us felt that there weren’t enough concrete plans in place to support late arrivals effectively. There was a sense of miscommunication between departments, and as a result, some students were left uncertain about the support available to them upon arrival.
- Personally, I believe this highlighted the need for better communication between departments, so that no student feels lost or unsupported, regardless of when they arrive.
-
Improving Support for Late Arrivals
- Moving forward, I feel strongly that we need better coordination to ensure late arrivals are properly integrated into university life. It’s vital that all students, regardless of when they arrive, feel included and have access to the same opportunities and support.
- There’s definitely room for improvement in how departments communicate with one another, and I’m committed to ensuring that we make the necessary changes to support students more effectively in the future.

Using Technology to Build a Stronger Community
- With the rise of technology, especially through smartphones, we’ve worked hard to create online platforms that allow students to stay connected and engaged with their communities.
- We’ve set up WhatsApp groups for different student communities, providing a quick and easy way for students to communicate with one another, share information, and get involved in university life from day one.

UniBell: A New Platform for Connecting Students
- We’ve also introduced a new platform called UniBuddy, which I believe will be a real game-changer for our community-building efforts. This platform allows students to create and join groups based on their interests, making it easier to connect with like-minded individuals.
- Moderators have been recruited to help ensure that the platform remains a safe and welcoming space for all students, and we’re currently in the testing phase. We’re aiming for UniBuddy to be fully operational by the next academic year, and I’m really excited to see how it will help enhance the sense of community across both campuses.
