Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing great! Now that I’m back from my annual leave, I wanted to catch you up on what I’ve been up to lately. Here’s a little look at what’s been keeping me busy since my last update!

Making Parking More Accessible for Commuting Students

One of my biggest recent focuses has been creating a proposal for reduced or free parking for our commuting students. I’ve completed the initial draft and now, the next step is potentially conducting a survey to find out how many students would benefit from this. Once we have that data, I’ll pass it on to the right director within the SU to keep the momentum going. Fingers crossed for positive results!

Training Our New SCOs

Helping to deliver training to our newly elected and wonderful SCOs has been a highlight! They’re eager, driven, and bring so much fresh energy to the team. It’s been rewarding to support them as they step into their new roles, and I’m looking forward to seeing them thrive as they contribute to the SU’s work.

Early Planning for One World Essex

I’m currently in the early stages of planning One World Essex, and I’m determined to make it the best it can be. My vision is to create an event where everyone is not just attending, but involved in the process. I want this celebration of cultures to be inclusive from the ground up, ensuring that every voice is heard and every student feels a part of the journey.
