- Why you should get involved
WHAT IS A SOCIETY?
A community for those who are joined by faith or cultural background, or interests.
We have 60+ societies which you can get involved with and find people like yourself who might want to find home away from home.
HOW TO JOIN
Once you find a society you’re interested in, you can buy a membership on the SU website. You must be logged in with your university email address to buy one. Even if the membership is free, you must checkout in order to join a society.
It’s important to actually join the society, as sometime s they offer discounts and events only to their members.
HOW ARE SOCIETIES RUN?
Each society is run by an elected committee. These committee members are voted in each year by other society members.
A society is comprised of a team of executives (committee) like President, Welfare, and more. They help shape the society and the events that take place during the year.
