Welcome to the Essex Law Society sign-up page. The Essex Law Society is one of the largest and oldest societies on campus. We strive to provide a variety of events for law and non-law students that focus on helping you prepare for a career in law (and that are great for meeting new people who share your interests). The Essex Law Society is a place to connect with like-minded students at your university through social and career-focused events.
We aspire to be as inclusive as possible and give all students - both those who read law and those who are involved in other disciplines - the opportunity to make friends, network, and access the exciting opportunities Essex Law Society plans to offer this coming year. Prepare for a career in law
Law is an incredibly competitive and demanding field - whether you want to practise as a solicitor or barrister, work for the Law Commission, or become an academic - but there has never been a better time to begin distinguishing yourself from other candidates than now. We are continously working with our valued sponsors and the School of Law to create events that can help you develop your commercial awareness, soft skills, specialist knowledge, and professional network.
Make lasting friendships
Ever heard someone say that their time at university was some of the best years of their lives? We would love for you to feel the same and know that the friendships made at university can last a lifetime! Essex Law Society is not just about career-centred events; as a member, you will be invited to regular meet-ups and, of course, the famous end-of-year Law Ball!
