About OUR CLUB:
Our club is perfectly suited to anyone who enjoys any game on any platform! We pride ourselves on catering for both casual and competitive players through providing a space to socialise with new strangers and old friends. Our club also provides an opportunity for team players to take part in national university Esports leagues. The Essex Esports Club (EEC) has a role for every kind of gamer!
Casual:
This year the club Executives aim to host a large variety of casual online gaming nights that may include games of Minecraft, Counter Strike 2 and League of Legends. We would also like to introduce some in-person, on-campus games such as MarioKart and MarioParty! This year’s Executives are always searching for new ideas for events or friendly competitions, so why not join our Discord and share your game expertise!
Competitive:
Within the Essex Esports Club, we have the ability to play as part of the ‘Essex Blades’. The Blades are the Sports Team of our University and we are immensely proud to play with this title. Through the purchase of an EEC Competitive Membership you will be provided with the opportunity to take part in the national university leagues (NUEL and NSE). These league tournaments occur weekly and include every game listed below. They run through the Summer and Winter Season, as well as a less competitive league taking place in Summer with the option for Alumni to participate as well.

As a club, we have the oppurtunity to enter multiple teams into each game for each tournament, so no matter your skill level, there will be a team for you! Each league has a dedicated team behind them who ensure that the tournaments are balanced in terms of skill-level matchups, so each week should be competitive no matter how highly-rated your team is!
We have dedicated game representatives for each tournament game, so feel free to join the discord and get in touch with the respective game representatives about trying out and joining teams!
