Training:
We have allocated training times (listed below) in which club members may be asked to join if we think the standard is high enough, this training will be led by current players using drills to keep us all sharp for the season, and hopefully improve all the time in doing so.
We also have club night for those who dont wish to make the team/didn't make it, during this we are happy to give advice to how to improve, or you can just have some games and get to meet a lot of new people.

club objectives
Improve teams in order to finish as high as possible in BUCS leagues including promotions to top tiers. Getting everyone together to make lots of friends and have organised socials/fundraising events. Have everyone enjoying themselves!
Matches and Competitions
We currently have two Mens teams and two Ladies teams competing in the BUCS league. BUCS is the league in which we play other universities, playing in these means you are chosen by the corresponding captains. If you manage to make the team these are great fun, you have a day out traveling to the matches and playing in different places with some tough competition.
There is also the biggest sporting day on the planet, Derby Day, this is where every sport is fiercely competed against UEA (The University of East Anglia) our biggest rivals. Two teams are chosen to play one Mens and one Ladies.
Those who perform well during the season may be picked to enter the national BUCS badminton individuals championships around February. This is a tournament where players from all universities in the UK may enter to fight for the title of being the national champion and opponents will include some existing England team players. It is a great weekend of fun away from Essex, travelling with the team and also to play as well as watch some of the world class players playing!
