The Essex Blades Cricket Club is a great club to be a part of during your time at the university, whether you’re an experienced player or you’ve never played before, we cater to all abilities. Throughout the winter we offer weekly indoor nets and the club competes in the Braintree Indoor league, the BUCS Indoor Tournament and the Annual, Derby Day event against UEA, and then in the the Summer Term, the club competes in the outdoor BUCS season. We arealso proud to have links with Essex County Cricket Club and the local club, Colchester & East Essex Cricket Club, providSocial SecretarySocial Secretarying exciting opportunities for our members.
UECC is not just about playing and training, but social events as well, with regular socials on Wednesday nights for ‘Sports Fed’, as well as other social events and trips, as well as looking to set up inter-sports club contests.

Links With Other Clubs

Colchester & East Essex CC and University of Essex CC have teamed up to create a formal partnership to share resources, offering great benefits to our members;
USE OF HOME GROUND-All 1st XI BUCS games will take place at Castle Park, Colchester
NO FEES- All UECC students can play for CEECC free of charge during term time, in both Saturday and Sunday matches.
MORE TRAINING- Winter nets at CEECC are free of charge and open to all UECC members considering playing Saturday cricket for CEECC in 2015.
COACHING OPPORTUNITIES-Are available at CEECC to all UECC students seeking to gain experience or qualifications.
The University of Essex and Essex County Cricket Club are long standing partners,offering opportunities to talented cricketers and offering a scholarship programe encouraging academy players to study at the university.
